The club caters for photographers of all skill levels from beginners to highly experienced. You do not need expensive camera equipment to participate in club activities.

We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club at 7.00pm on the second Wednesday of each month. Members can participate in graded print and digital competitions. ZOOM tutorial sessions and hands on workshops occur on the third and fourth Wednesday in each month. Go to About/Help/Contact for more information.

About our club

Lake Macquarie Camera Club Inc. is an incorporated association that was previously the Belmont 16s Photography Club. We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. Club members are required to join Valentine Bowling Club as social members.

Objectives of the Club

To provide members of the club with opportunities to advance the standard of their pictorial and technical photographic work.

To promote the exchange of information and ideas about photography through the provision of education and training programmes, newsletters, a website, and other means.

To encourage and assist members to participate in photographic competitions both within and beyond the Club.

June Zoom Workshop

Our first workshop for the month is this Wednesday 22nd June starting at 7pm

Topic “Exploring Photographic Composition”  will be presented by Roy Killen.
The presentation will provide guidance for the decisions that you need to make about composition when capturing and editing images. It will explore both basic principles and useful techniques that will help you to improve the quality of your images regardless of your present standard. There is something for everyone, regardless of what you like to photograph or what software you use.

2022 Judging Course – Confirmed Date

The 2022 club Judging Course is now confirmed for Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August and will be held at the St Johns Ambulance Training facility at 1b Court Street, Adamstown.  Start time is 8.45am on Saturday and the course will run to approximately 5.00pm on each day. There are tea/coffee facilities available for a gold coin donation and lunch will be taken at the nearby Gates Hotel. The fee is $20.00 pp for club members. Non club members will pay $40.00 , with all fees going to the St. John Ambulance as a donation. There are still places available for club members so be quick as we will open attendance to other clubs shortly. June Raw Image Challenge

This months image is a nature image and the rules for a nature competition must be followed.

Download the image from the members area and edit with your favourite editing program, then upload before the end of the month.

Last months entries are now available for all members to judge, just find the blue scoring button next to the “May Raw image challenge” and follow the instructions.
