The club caters for photographers of all skill levels from beginners to highly experienced. You do not need expensive camera equipment to participate in club activities.

We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club at 7.00pm on the second Wednesday of each month. Members can participate in graded print and digital competitions. ZOOM tutorial sessions and hands on workshops occur on the third and fourth Wednesday in each month. Go to About/Help/Contact for more information.

About our club

Lake Macquarie Camera Club Inc. is an incorporated association that was previously the Belmont 16s Photography Club. We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. Club members are required to join Valentine Bowling Club as social members.

Objectives of the Club

To provide members of the club with opportunities to advance the standard of their pictorial and technical photographic work.

To promote the exchange of information and ideas about photography through the provision of education and training programmes, newsletters, a website, and other means.

To encourage and assist members to participate in photographic competitions both within and beyond the Club.

It’s A Knockout

Yes “It’s A Knockout” is on again this year, Wednesday July 24th at Valentine Bowling Club at 7pm

To join in on the fun all you need to do is upload 1 EDI image to the knockout competition on the website, then just make sure you turn up at VBC on the night.

HOW IT WORKS – From all the entries, 2 are randomly selected and displayed. The audience will discuss the images and a vote will decide which image progresses to the next round and which image is knocked out. This continues until we have the winning entry.

RULES –

  1. Your image or similar image must NOT have been entered into any other previous competition.
  2. Entries close 11.55pm on Tuesday 23rd July
  3. Open to all grades
  4. Judges decision if there are equal votes

PRIZES – Everyone has a chance to win a prize. These include, first place, runner up, lucky door prize, and possible consolation prizes for those that are “Knocked Out” Prizes include Ulanzi LED lights, tripods and much more

Club Membership Renewals – Now Overdue

If you have not yet renewed your membership and intend to continue as a member of our club can you please renew your membership as soon as possible. You can do this from the members page on the club website. We are approaching a point where memberships will be cancelled if we don’t hear from you.

2024 NPF Convention and Competition Collection of Prints

Club members will be aware that the 2024 Northern Photographic Convention and Conference is being held at the Kurri Kurri Bowling Club over the weekend of the 27th and 28th July. The timetable for the conference is now available for you to view on the NPF wensite – Northern Photographic Federation (myphotoclub.com.au)

If you have entered prints in the competition please bring them along for collection at our July Club Night next week on Wednesday 10th July at Valentine Bowling Club. Alternatively you can contact either myself or Phil Whiteman to make arrangements to leave at our homes no later than Friday 12th July.

The club is organising a “Christmas in July” (with Plum Pudding) at 5.30pm on Saturday 20th July at Ocean City Chinese Restaurant, 616 Pacific Highway, Belmont – opposite the Fire Station.
