The closing date of this competition has been extended to Friday 2 February 2018. Please nag your children, grandchildren, friends, neighbours etc to enter this competition. It has some great awards and may encourage some young people to take up photography as a hobby.
The topics and definitions for the Set Subjects for the year can be found under the Members>Competition Information menu.
Each month you may enter TWO digital images in the Set Subject category.
On Wednesday 24th January our club training night will be on the topic of Travel Photography. The presenter will be Joanne Stolte, FPSA, MPSA, EFIAP. who is from the USA. Joanne is a respected international judge and will be judging several sections at the Maitland International this year.
In international competitions, images that are entered in Travel Photography sections must satisfy a specific definition which you can read here. Joanne will explain how you can capture and process images to meet this definition.
Joanne has asked that members bring images on the night so that she can critique them and give advice about how to improve your travel photography. If you have digital images (rather than prints) that you would like Joanne to critique please email them to me by Monday 22nd – use the firstname.lastname@example.org address.
I am looking for photographers for handicraft workshops I have organised for the Hand Weavers and Spinners Guild NSW Summer School. This is a wonderful opportunity to create images for the upcoming ‘Working Hands’ set subject competition and for portraiture. The guild would like images to help promote the Hand Weavers and Spinners Guild on its webpage, Instagram and monthly newsletter, etc. Hopefully, club members can create some award winning images of rarely explored subject matter for their competition portfolios.
The Summer School is already in progress. Workshops are running daily from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm. Photographers are welcome to join the groups at any time during the day, even for an hour or two.
If you are interested and can help me out please email Elizabeth at email@example.com or text 0439 408 159
