Final Zoom Presentation for August
Our final Zoom workshop for August will be this Wednesday August 25th with Janice Koskey from Boston USA and is on “Contemplating our Fine Art Photography ”
NEW STARTING TIME – 8pm (due to time differences)
Janice will teach us how to look behind our images and articulate the story that resides there. The presentation helps us to understand the motivation, meaning, or metaphor that make our photography speak about our experience on both sides of the camera lens. Janice draws from the study of literature to help us unlock the plot, characters, setting, theme, and point of view of our photographic endeavours.
Her slide presentation is filled with examples of photographs that depict these elements as well as gestures and symbols. It shows how mood or feeling in a photo can reveal the essence of a scene, the wonder of the viewer, or something from the heart of the photographer.
SOUNDS INTERESTING ! YES? Zoom will open at 7.45pm for login
See you there! GregC

Zoom Presentation Wednesday August 11th at 10.00am
Our next Zoom workshop will be on the morning of Wednesday August 11th. NOTE start time will be 10.00am. (With a 9.45am login) This is due to our presenter John Martin living on the east coast of the USA. John is a member of the PSA and has been a guest speaker at many travel and photographic conferences and is currently associate editor of “The Photo Traveler”
Topic “A CASE FOR BLACK AND WHITE IN TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY”
John uses a comparison of twenty-five image pairs – colour vs black and white — to show his reasoning behind a preference for black and white in some cases. He describes the subject matter which, he feels, makes black and white preferable. He examines situations where black and white better conveys the story and/or purpose.
This should be a great follow up workshop from last months presentation with Roy on Monochrome conversion techniques. See you there!
