Thank you Ian Marriner and Ian Medcalf

Tonight the awesome duo delivered a wonderful presentation. We were taken into the depths of the ocean through the most incredible images and video. The audience was entertained and educated. The session generated a lot of questions.

We were exposed to a different level of photography. Not only must these photographers be able to heave heavy and expensive equipment around, they must be experienced divers, be able to read the weather, understand oceanography and marine biology before clicking the shutter button!

Underwater photography is an art in itself. It is no easy task.

I think we all came away with a healthy respect for these incredible people.

Thank you to the two Ians for your presentation. It was greatly appreciated.

Presentation Night 10 April 2019 7.15pm Ian Marriner and Ian Medcalf Present Underwater Photography

The two Ians belong to our club and their presentation will take us to the magical world of sea creatures and how to capture their life and their environment.  Underwater photography is one of the most difficult areas of photography to master. I am sure that you you will be viewing a lot of beautiful images.
These photographers, not only have to be competent in diving, they have to worry about lighting and maneuvering around their subjects, often using heavy equipment, and often trying to get perfect focus and depth of field on tiny subjects.
