2023 Australia Photographic Society (APS) – Australia Cup
Each year our club participates in the Australian Photographic Society’s Australia Cup – a digital competition between photography clubs across Australia. Last year we came sixth! All members, irrespective of grade, are requested to submit two images for consideration to be selected as part of our entry of 20 images (two images per member can be put forward).
This year there is a theme for the competition which is “This is Australia. “Any image that shows a flavour of life in Australia including landscapes, people, iconic events and iconic places including architecture, birds and animals. Images may be taken in any of Australia’s territories.”
I can immediately think of some wonderful images that members have taken and entered in club competitions. So, please take some time to look back over your images and enter some iconic images of this beautiful country we call home.
Entries close Sunday 14thMay.
The easiest way to submit an image is to select a previously uploaded image that has done well in our competitions.
To do this:
- Go to the entry form APS Australian Cup 2022 preselection in the Members area of the club website.
- Use the green “Select From Existing Uploaded Images” button
- Open the Result filter, clear the filter, then check your highest awards
- When selecting your image please remember the theme for this year’s competition. Review the images as a slideshow and then select the chosen image for entry. This returns you to the entry form and populates the entry.
- Repeat for your second submission.
Please do not enter previously submitted images, whether they were a part of our, or another club’s entry. Also, you can only submit entries as part of one club.

Cessnock City Library Exhibition June 2023
The Cessnock City Library will be hosting an exhibition for our club this coming June. Your prints are urgently required. We need both large and small prints. This is your exhibition, so please participate.
Please leave your prints with Kathryn James at the Print Night meeting next week. If you are not attending next week’s meeting, prints may be left at Kathryn’s home. It would be advisable to organise a time with her first.
