The club caters for photographers of all skill levels from beginners to highly experienced. You do not need expensive camera equipment to participate in club activities.

We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club at 7.00pm on the second Wednesday of each month. Members can participate in graded print and digital competitions. ZOOM tutorial sessions and hands on workshops occur on the third and fourth Wednesday in each month. Go to About/Help/Contact for more information.

About our club

Lake Macquarie Camera Club Inc. is an incorporated association that was previously the Belmont 16s Photography Club. We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. Club members are required to join Valentine Bowling Club as social members.

Objectives of the Club

To provide members of the club with opportunities to advance the standard of their pictorial and technical photographic work.

To promote the exchange of information and ideas about photography through the provision of education and training programmes, newsletters, a website, and other means.

To encourage and assist members to participate in photographic competitions both within and beyond the Club.

Scott Fowler Workshop 19 – 21 June 2020

” Come and spend a weekend­­­ with Scott Fowler, FPSNZ,GPSA,EFIAP,EPSA. A passionate photographer from New Zealand, who originally hails from Scotland. Let Scott show you how to get more out of your camera, which will open many more opportunities to do more post processing or even less post processing by getting it right in the camera and make better images. Friday night he will talk about the thought process to make better mages, then Saturday and Sunday we will put into practice what he talked about. Scott is one of a small handful of photographers from around the world who has achieved Gold Portfolio level with the Photographic Society of America. This is a unique opportunity to learn from Scott.”

Program

Friday, 19 June 2020 7 – 9pm – Presentation on key topics and outline of workshop – Belmont 16s Club

Saturday, 20 June 2020 9am – 4pm – Practical sessions – several locations

Sunday, 21 June 2020 9am – 4pm – Practical photography around the club and or some post processing, Q&A – Belmont 16s Club

Both days include looking at how to get more out of your camera and how to collect more information, so you have more to play with in post processing. 

Not only will you learn a lot, but you are guaranteed to have fun. Scott Fowler is a very experienced photographer, instructor and international judge.

Scott’s qualifications and experience include:

  • Online instructor with the PSA
  • International awards. 
  • Accreditation of Excellence with FIAP & Excellence Level with the PSA. 
  • Fellow of the New Zealand Photographic Society
  • Experienced in commercial work, portraits, excels in monochrome and colour.

Belmont 16s Photography Club AGM 21 August 2019, Committee Nomination Form

It is that time of the year for you to decide your committee members for 2019-2020.

The Nomination Form for Committee Positions for 2019 – 2020 may be found on our website under All Club Documents and Information (the grey block on the right hand of the screen). Don’t forget that the club will require a new Presentations Co-ordinator.
