Welcome

The club caters for photographers of all skill levels from beginners to highly experienced. You do not need expensive camera equipment to participate in club activities.

We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club at 7.00pm on the second Wednesday of each month. Members can participate in graded print and digital competitions. ZOOM tutorial sessions and hands on workshops occur on the third and fourth Wednesday in each month. Go to About/Help/Contact for more information.

About our club

Lake Macquarie Camera Club Inc. is an incorporated association that was previously the Belmont 16s Photography Club. We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. Club members are required to join Valentine Bowling Club as social members.

Objectives of the Club

To provide members of the club with opportunities to advance the standard of their pictorial and technical photographic work.

To promote the exchange of information and ideas about photography through the provision of education and training programmes, newsletters, a website, and other means.

To encourage and assist members to participate in photographic competitions both within and beyond the Club.

In preparation of the 2020 Competition year the Grades of all club members are being reviewed. If you would like to request a change of Grade please email Roy Killen, roykillen@mac.com, so that your request can be considered by the Grading Subcommittee. After IOTY night has wrapped up, members are invited to vote online for their choice of overall image of the year.  Voting will be open for one week only so make sure your vote counts.  Each member can cast one vote only. 
The winning image will be announced at the Club Christmas Party.

Newcastle National Photography Competition Print Collection

Rob Oyston, organiser for this competition, will be at the Club for the IOTY Night (20 November)  and the Jim Frazier Presentation night (27 November) to collect your prints for this competition.

It is really easy to enter on the Newcastle National Exhibition of Photography site 

Belmont 16s Camera Club, the biggest Hunter club, is very poorly represented.  Now is your chance to shine!

Invitation from Maitland Camera Club 12 November

The Maitland Camera Club is thrilled to have Mr. Bandu Gunaratne  visiting our club on Tuesday the 12th of November at 7pm.
 
Mr Gunaratne is a full time professional photographer and International Photography judge who is based in Sri Lanka. 
 
He will be conducting a presentation on Portrait Photography and a slide show on Sri Lanka.
