The club caters for photographers of all skill levels from beginners to highly experienced. You do not need expensive camera equipment to participate in club activities.

We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club at 7.00pm on the second Wednesday of each month. Members can participate in graded print and digital competitions. ZOOM tutorial sessions and hands on workshops occur on the third and fourth Wednesday in each month. Go to About/Help/Contact for more information.

About our club

Lake Macquarie Camera Club Inc. is an incorporated association that was previously the Belmont 16s Photography Club. We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. Club members are required to join Valentine Bowling Club as social members.

Objectives of the Club

To provide members of the club with opportunities to advance the standard of their pictorial and technical photographic work.

To promote the exchange of information and ideas about photography through the provision of education and training programmes, newsletters, a website, and other means.

To encourage and assist members to participate in photographic competitions both within and beyond the Club.

PSA Interclub Entries Needed NOW

Images for our club entry in Round 1 of the PSA Interclub Competition must be submitted by 15th October. Full details of these Interclub competitions can be downloaded from the “Club Documents” page of our website. 

ALL club members are invited to participate. It’s easy – just enter the same way you enter monthly competitions.  Please at least consider entering some of the images you are going to use as your IOTY entries. Don’t be shy! It’s free and you have nothing to lose.

October Raw Image Challenge

The Raw image challenge is now open for the month of October. This will be the last challenge for the year. Simply download the image from the members area of the website and give it your best edit. Why not try a new preset or try an editing technique you have not used before. This months image is a landscape from the Cook Islands

Entries for Maitland International Salon of Photography

Entries are now open for the Maitland International Salon of Photography. To save the cost of delivery and return postage for prints entered in the MISoP, members can leave their entries with Thomas Buckwalter. He will deliver them to the Maitland club and retrieve them for members when the MISoP is finished. Thomas can be contacted on 0487 151 269 or tbuckwalt@gmail.com. The MISoP can be found at https://maitlandsalonprint.myphotoclub.com.au/

Important note:  While completing the online entry process, please select NO to return of prints. By checking YES you will be automatically billed for return postage. So, even though you know and we know that your prints will be be returned by our club arrangement you will need to to check NO.
