The club caters for photographers of all skill levels from beginners to highly experienced. You do not need expensive camera equipment to participate in club activities.

We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club at 7.00pm on the second Wednesday of each month. Members can participate in graded print and digital competitions. ZOOM tutorial sessions and hands on workshops occur on the third and fourth Wednesday in each month. Go to About/Help/Contact for more information.

About our club

Lake Macquarie Camera Club Inc. is an incorporated association that was previously the Belmont 16s Photography Club. We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. Club members are required to join Valentine Bowling Club as social members.

Objectives of the Club

To provide members of the club with opportunities to advance the standard of their pictorial and technical photographic work.

To promote the exchange of information and ideas about photography through the provision of education and training programmes, newsletters, a website, and other means.

To encourage and assist members to participate in photographic competitions both within and beyond the Club.

Zoom Lightroom Workshop

The next Zoom workshop will happen on Thursday February 11th at 7.15pm. Topics will include.

  1. Whats new in Lightroom 2021
  2. A simple workflow to edit your images
  3. Editing and exporting images in less than 5 min (EDI entry)
  4. Q and A (Have your questions ready)

If you have any Lightroom issues or areas you would like covered, please email me so we can maybe solve them on the night.

Future Zoom workshops for February and March will include – “Creating a Portfolio of images” with Craig Parker; “Sports Photography” with William Stewart and “Nature Photography in Scotland” with Andy Hayes

Invitations will be sent out on Thursday morning to all our Zoom members. Please email me if you do not receive your invitation and would like to attend. Meeting will open at 7pm for those who would like to chat or check settings.

PSA Interclub COMPETITIONS

Our club entires for Round 2 of the PSA Interclub competitions have been finalised. The selected images will be listed in the next Skiffy.

Entries for the five competitions in Round 3 (Open, Creative, Nature, Photojournalism and Photo Travel) are now open and will close on 21st March. This is the final Round for the 2020-21 competitions. All the entries from Round 2 that were not selected as part of our club entry have been transferred to Round 3 – but you can delete your entries and submit new entries if you want to.

February Raw Image Challenge

This months challenge is a portrait and requires you to edit the image to MONOCHROME. Feel free to crop, flip, rotate and edit using any editing technique. Competition will close Feb 28th. Give it a try! This months image is shown below

Judging is available for January’s image. Simply go to members page and select the scoring button next to “Jan Raw Image Challenge”
