The club caters for photographers of all skill levels from beginners to highly experienced. You do not need expensive camera equipment to participate in club activities.

We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club at 7.00pm on the second Wednesday of each month. Members can participate in graded print and digital competitions. ZOOM tutorial sessions and hands on workshops occur on the third and fourth Wednesday in each month. Go to About/Help/Contact for more information.

About our club

Lake Macquarie Camera Club Inc. is an incorporated association that was previously the Belmont 16s Photography Club. We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. Club members are required to join Valentine Bowling Club as social members.

Objectives of the Club

To provide members of the club with opportunities to advance the standard of their pictorial and technical photographic work.

To promote the exchange of information and ideas about photography through the provision of education and training programmes, newsletters, a website, and other means.

To encourage and assist members to participate in photographic competitions both within and beyond the Club.

2024 Northern Photographic Federation (NPF) Conference and Competitions

The 2024 Northern Photographic Federation (NPF) conference will be held at the Kurri Kurri Bowling Club over the weekend of 27th and 28th July. In conjunction with the conference there are a range of competitions that members can enter. The closing date for entries for the the usual digital and print competitions is the 5th July 2024. Those members who attended the recent Studio Lighting Workshop would have heard Brad LeBroque talk to the competition that will run over the NPF weekend where competition entrants will be able to shoot a portrait in the style of the “Old Masters” using the lighting equipment supplied which then becomes the prize. Club Membership Renewals – Hurry, Hurry Hurry !!!

If you have not yet renewed your club membership please do so as soon as possible. Membership fees are due by 30th June. 

Membership fees remain unchanged at $50.00, payable by electronic funds transfer to the club account. To find the club’s bank details please go the grey MEMBERS button on the Home page of the club’s website which you will find on the top right side of your screen. Open the MEMBERS page and then click on the blue MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL button. It’s on the left-hand side toward the top of the screen. A page will open, and you will find a link that will take you to the club’s bank account details.

If you are a new member who has joined the club since 1st January 2024 there is no need to renew your membership. Your current membership will continue till 30th June 2025.

In conjunction with our membership fees, we encourage all financial members resident in Lake Macquarie City and Newcastle City Council areas to also join the Valentine Bowling Club (VBC) as a social member. The annual fee is $10.00, and renewals commenced in May.

June Club Night Reminder

Our June Club night will be held next week, at Valentine Bowling Club, 7.00pm on Wednesday 12th June. Our print judge for the night will be the accomplished Ian English from the Wangi Camera Club.

Following the feedback we received from members last month the format for the evening will be a little different. Print judging will take us up to the refreshment break. After the break there will be a viewing of the May digital Set Subject competition.
