September Club Night Reminder

Our September club night will be held next Wednesday , 14th September at Valentine Bowling Club, commencing at 7.00pm. We have had to make some changes to the program that was described in our September Skiffy edition.

Alex Hunter is unwell with Covid and will not be able to make his presentation. Instead of Alex presenting to the club Bill Chambers will deliver his next installment of the “FUNdamentals of Photography”. Similar to the first session I suggest you bring your camera along so that as Bill takes a deeper dive into modern digital cameras you can follow along with your camera and have your questions ready.

Our print competition was going to be judged by Bruce Baker but he to is unavailable so in his place one of our club members who has recently completed the judging course, Peter Treloar will be the print judge for September. As usual we will hold our raffle and refreshments will be provided. See you then.

September Club Night

Our next club night will be at the Valentine Bowling Club at 7.00pm on Wednesday 14th September. This month our guest speaker will be Alex Hunter who will talk about his career as a photographer, accompanied by some of his images. Many of you know Alex but for some of our newer members Alex is one of the club’s life members. I encourage you to have a look at some of his work on the club’s website and you will see what an accomplished and passionate photographer he is. A talk not to be missed.

As well as Alex’s talk the September print competitions will be judged by Bruce Baker and of course the raffle will be run with tea and coffee refreshments available.

It’s also an opportunity for those people who entered the NPF print competitions to collect your prints. Thanks to Bill Chambers who collected them at the end of the NPF weekend.

NORTHERN PHOTOGRAPHIC FEDERATION (NPF) – 2022 CONVENTION AND COMPETITION

This is a final reminder that if you have entered the print competition for the 2022 NPF Convention you can drop off your prints at the club night on Wednesday 10th August (tonight) or leave on the front verandah at my home at 37 Seaview Close, Eleebana.

The program for the NPF weekend is now available and is shown below. The organisers have stated that this is subject to change and for those attending check the NPF website for updates.

What to bring

Please bring your camera so you can participate in the activities and try the equipment available from companies supporting the NPF.

Cost

For members who have entered the photographic competition entry is covered by the competition entry fee. Entry to the NPF weekend is $50.00 for members who have not entered the photographic competition. For members and the general public who are not attending any of the sessions over the weekend and only wish to view the exhibition entry to the exhibition is $10.00.

Meals

Morning Tea is included in the entry fee. Lunch can be purchased from the Kurri Kurri Bowling Club Bistro. NPF participants will receive a member’s discount on meals for the weekend. Please Note: You cannot bring your own food and drink into the club premises. A lot of work from volunteers sourced from most of the local clubs has gone into organising this event. It’s now up to you to participate in the fun.

As those of you that have attended one of the previous NFP meets, you know we have informative but fun presenters who converse about their unique photographic journey and experiences. If you are an NPF virgin, welcome…. you are in for a treat.
