Notice of Extraordinary Club Meeting – Wednesday 11th January – “Winding-Up” of Belmont 16s Photography Club

At our November Club night and via a post on our club website on 4th November I advised that your committee felt that in the best interests of our photography club that we should “wind-up” the Belmont 16s Photography Club and establish a new, incorporated body called the Lake Macquarie Photography Club. In accordance with the club’s constitution for this to occur 75% of the members in attendance and eligible to vote need to vote in favour of the motion. This motion will be put to members at the commencement of our January 2023 Club night which will be held at the Valentine Bowling Club, commencing at 7.00pm.

The motion to be put is as follows:

  1. To authorise the club Committee to apply for registration of a new photography club as an incorporated association.
  2. To transfer the assets of the Belmont 16s Photography Club to the new incorporated club at a date determined by the Committee.
  3. To cease operation of the Belmont 16s Photography Club at a date determined by the Committee.

Members can vote on this motion through one of the following means:

  • By attending the meeting in person
  • By attending the meeting via ZOOM using the link available on the club website. The ZOOM meeting will be opened at 6.50pm.
  • By submitting a vote via email to the Club Secretary – Susan Slack. Sue’s email address is gordon.slack15@bigpond.com

Early voting via email opens on 1st January 2023 and closes on 10th January 2023.

I will send out a reminder about the Extraordinary Meeting on 1st January 2023.

Finally and on behalf of your committee I wish you and your family all the very best for the festive season.

Maitland International Saloon of Photography – Group Entry discount

A group has now been set up for Belmont 16s Photography club members, in order to enter the Maitland International saloon, and gain a discount on your entry fees.

Please note that their website only allows a single payment from the Group Leader for all entrants. So unless we get a group of 10 entrants or more, there will be no benefit of entering through the Group method.

ENTRY FEES

All entry fees shown below are in USD (before discount). Four images may be entered in each section.

1 section:             $10 USD

2 sections            $14 USD

3 sections            $18 USD

4 sections            $22 USD

5 sections            $26 USD

6 sections            $30 USD

Discounts            Group of 10 to 19 entrants = 10% discount

                               Group of 20 + entrants = 15% discount

Prints                    USD$13 for Print return postage, to an Australian address only.

If you wish to enter through the Belmont 16s group, please contact me via email – davidrichards5050@gmail.com, or via my mobile – 0419 626 321. We need to ensure that we have 10 entrants as a Group before we start the process, otherwise it will be easier to enter individually.

Please let me know ASAP, and once we have a group of 10 I can let everyone know the Group Name and Access code, and update the club website accordingly to advise all members that the group is activated. Once activated, I can accept payment via PayPal, or Bank transfer.

Maitland International Salon of Photography – Print Entries

Members will have seen a post last week from Di Schofield about The Maitland International Salon. There is the facility to enter as a group if our club has at least 10 members who wish to enter the digital and print categories. 10 to 19 entrants attract a 10% discount whilst 20 or more attract a 15% discount on the entry fees. However we need a Group Leader for our club to setup the group on the competition website and to provide that code to members who intend to enter. If you would like to volunteer please let me know by Friday 9th December.

The Entrance Camera Club 2022 Portfolio Presentation Invitation

I have received an invitation from The Entrance Camera Club to their 2022 Inaugural Portfolio Presentation this Friday night. The invitation is for any of our club members and particularly any that participated in our portfolio exercise this year. I cannot attend due to a prior commitment but will explore how we might receive a presentation from The Entrance Camera Club in 2023. You can find all the details of this Fridays event below.
