The club caters for photographers of all skill levels from beginners to highly experienced. You do not need expensive camera equipment to participate in club activities.

We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club at 7.00pm on the second Wednesday of each month. Members can participate in graded print and digital competitions. ZOOM tutorial sessions and hands on workshops occur on the third and fourth Wednesday in each month. Go to About/Help/Contact for more information.

About our club

Lake Macquarie Camera Club Inc. is an incorporated association that was previously the Belmont 16s Photography Club. We meet at the Valentine Bowling Club on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. Club members are required to join Valentine Bowling Club as social members.

Objectives of the Club

To provide members of the club with opportunities to advance the standard of their pictorial and technical photographic work.

To promote the exchange of information and ideas about photography through the provision of education and training programmes, newsletters, a website, and other means.

To encourage and assist members to participate in photographic competitions both within and beyond the Club.

2021 Image of the Year (IOTY) Results

I am pleased to announce that the overall 2021 IOTY winner is Di Wood with her image “Cicade Standup”. In second place, Roy Killen’s “Nest Nearly Complete” and in third place Steve McGrath’s “Drop of Red”.

Congratulations to Di and to everyone who made it to the final round of the IOTY.

PSA Interclub Results

In Round 1 of the Open Projected Image competition Belmont 16s came EQUAL FIRST out of 23 clubs. 

The images submitted by Bill Chambers and Jennifer Carrigan both received Merit awards and the images submitted by Phil Whiteman and Sheila Stanley both received Honourable Mentions.

Time to choose the overall winner out of the nine 1st placegetters of this year’s image of the year competition.

To make your choice:

  • Go to the Members’ area and select 2021 Overal Image of the Year from the Published collections or follow this link:
  • Click on Slideshow, or click on the thumbnail of one of the entries.
  • Review the nine images
  • Use the Vote button to record your vote. The voted-for entry’s vote button will turn green.
  • Only one vote per person. If you vote for another entry your vote will move to the last entry voted for.
