Northern Photographic Federation event at the Kurri Kurri Bowling club

The Maitland Camera Club will be Hosting an event for the Northern Photographic Federation at the Kurri Kurri Bowling club

Tuesday 20th of April commencing at 2:30pm

As the NPF conference will not be occurring this year due to uncertainties caused by rules surrounding Covid at the Belmont 16 footers, we have decided to put on a Mini trade show and workshop night.

Some of the Manufacturers Panasonic, Sony, Sigma, Ilford, Profoto and Nikon have indicated they will be attending and bringing along their latest gear, others may be included as we move closer.

Les porter will also be there with a comprehensive range of Paper for sale, he will also have some powered Dry Boxes with him and other photographic accessories.

It would not be an event without C R Kennedy and John Wallace. John will have a lot of equipment on display. The whole afternoon is designed to be hands on and a chance to talk to the companies directly, followed by dinner and then a comprehensive workshop on studio lighting by John. He will have triggers and some of the newer Sigma Art series lenses to fit the major brands. So we will be shooting in real-time and quite a few will get the chance to have a go, Kurri Kurri bowling club has a comprehensive menu of well-prepared food, however, Tuesday night is normally fairly quiet so they will require an idea of the numbers we are expecting for dinner. There is no cost to attend the event, but dinner is buy your own so each club MUST give me a rough idea of how many will be attending from your club. R.S.V.P by Monday 12/04/21.

This is a great chance to catch up with friends from other clubs we may not have seen for a while and to start getting back to Normal……Hope to see you there.

Regards Brad Le Brocque Mob 0415771129

If you would like to attend please contact Brad Le Brocque Mob 0415771129. RSVP by 12th April.

Zoom Workshops for April

The set subject for September is Astro Photography.  In an attempt to prepare members for this sometimes challenging photography I am trying to run a series of workshops for April.

  1. On Monday April 12th at 7pm the first workshop will cover equipment needed, camera settings, software and apps you may wish to use to help prepare and plan for a night time photoshoot.
  2. A night time shoot for all members to attend is organised sometime between Tues April 13th to Sun April 18th  (approx 9pm to midnight). We need clear dark skies so the exact night will depend on the weather and will be a last minute decision. Location is at Illawong Park, Francis Street, Swansea Heads.
  3. A follow up workshop planned for Wed April 28th will look at editing and merging your images using Lightroom, Photoshop and Starstax software.
