May Competition Night and Covid Safety Management Plan

I would like to remind all members attending our May Competition Night at Belmont 16s that we will be continuing to follow the Covid Safety Plan that we advised at our April meeting. At the time I am preparing this note the authorities are reimposing tighter social distancing requirements for Sydney and Greater Sydney area as they attempt to track down all people who may have been in contact with a person who has tested positive for Covid 19. This is a timely reminder that we “are not out of the woods” yet with Covid 19 and until the vaccination roll-out is substantively complete we must follow the steps in the plan if we are to continue to hold face to face meetings. The committees review of our last meeting concluded that there was insufficient compliance with the social distancing requirements. If you are going to attend the Print Night then you MUST comply with these requirements. If we don’t then we may have to suspend these meetings. My apologies if this message is too blunt but I think it is important to understand what is at stake.

Belmont 16s Photography Club Print Night COVID Safety Plan

  1. COVID Registration.
Members register with Belmont 16s on entry.

  2. Physical distancing and people flow.
When visiting Belmont 16s please follow the signage, floor marking indicators, remain seated while inside and respect the directions of COVID Safe Marshals in the main club areas who are here to help you keep safe and healthy.
To assist us reduce mingling, please maintain recommended physical distancing measures of 1 person per 2 square metres. Please remain seated whenever possible during print night. When viewing prints maintain social distancing and view prints from right to left (facing the stage) i.e move from B Grade to Advanced Grade when viewing the prints and take a seat when socialising.
  3. Enhanced hygiene measures.
The Belmont 16s COVID-safe practices include enhanced hygiene and cleaning regimes, promoting social distancing and providing clear thoroughfares to avoid co-mingling.
The photography club committee asks you to maintain distance from others, use the hand sanitizers that the host club provides and most importantly stay at home if you are feeling unwell.
The club supports anyone who wants to wear a mask within the Club, as such the host club provides these free to any member who requests one at the front desk.
  4. Eliminating common touch points.
In order to  minimise common touch points between members, photography club members will not use club name tags or raffle tickets for the time being.
Please pay membership online if possible. If paying directly, please queue maintaining social distance, be patient and use hand sanitiser before and after.
  5. Peak Periods.
    Displaying Prints
During peak times such as displaying and collecting prints and tea break, please be patient and maintain separation.
    Viewing prints
Please follow the signage,  move in the indicated direction, maintain social distancing and consider others.
    Stand Set-up & Removal
This is to be done by nominated Stand Marshals. Please leave these tasks to the marshals in order to reduce co-mingling and to maintain social distancing.
Stand marshals need to work in pairs, so they may choose to wear a mask.; however, masks are not mandatory.
Marshals should use hand sanitiser before and after and maintain social distance where possible.
Only one marshall at the storage cupboard at any one time in order to maintain social distance.
