Set Subjects

Before entering any of the monthly Set Subject competitions, it is very important to download the Set Subject descriptions document and read it carefully. That document has recently been updated. If you do not follow the instructions in that document you run the risk of your entries being rejected.

If you have any questions about the Set Subjects please email the nominated judge for the month before you submit your entry.

Old Club Lights Disposal

Most members will be aware that we have purchased new lights for our club nights and for use in photography training sessions. We had one of these lights at our April Club night and they will be a vast improvement on the old lights with multiple LED globes. The new lights are equipped with battery packs which will eliminate trip hazards for members and judges.

What to do with our old lights? These lights have been in use now for some time and have recently been checked by a licenced electrician and tagged. Your committee has agreed that before we dispose of the lights we will offer them for FREE to club members. So, “first in best dressed”. If you would like the lights and their accompanying stands please get in touch with myself by email or text – bicton36@gmail.com or 0438 403 933.

2024 – 2025 Club Membership Renewal

We would like to now invite members to renew their club membership for the coming year, up until 30th June 2025. Membership fees remain unchanged at $50.00, payable by electronic funds transfer to the club account. To find the club’s bank details please go the grey MEMBERS button on the Home page which you will find on the top right side of your screen. Open the MEMBERS page and then click on the blue Membership Renewal button. It’s on the left hand side toward the top of the screen. A page will open and you will find a link that will take you to the club’s bank account details.

If you are a new member who has joined the club since 1st January 2024 there is no need to renew your membership. Your current membership will continue till 30th June 2025.

In conjunction with our membership fees we encourage all financial members resident in Lake Macquarie City  and Newcastle City Council areas to also join the Valentine Bowling Club (VBC) as a social member. The annual fee is $10.00 and renewals commence in May.

If you have any questions please contact our membership coordinator Joy Thomas.
