Thank you Bill Chambers
Tonight, everyone was treated to a great presentation on First Aid In the field. Bill covered every conceivable disaster which could happen in the field / home and gave practical demonstrations on how to treat them. We were even given a demonstration on the use of a defibrillator.
Bill brought us up to speed on the latest treatments and we learned a lot about spider and snake bites. Did you realise that red back spiders and white tailed spiders should be treated with ice, not compression?
The presentation drew a lot of lively discussion and thanks also to Roy Killen who was treated for being impaled on a biro, fractures, snake bites, a messy head and arm bleed and a cracked skull. After all of that, Bill got him “repaired” and he managed to drive home!
It was a fun but very educational night. Thank you Bill.

Presentation Night 11 March 2020 7.15pm – Bill Chambers First Aid in the field.
Bill Chambers is our club’s First Aid Officer. His first aid experience is vast and he has worked as a Paramedic for the NSW Ambulance. It is not only important to be aware of our environment when we are out enjoying our hobby, but also to know what to do if we land ourselves in trouble.
Bill has a wealth of knowledge to share, so make sure you bring along any questions which you would like to raise during the session.
