APS Australian Cup preselection entries needed

Each year our club participates in the Australian Photographic Society’s Australia Cup – a digital competition between photography clubs across Australia.

All members, irrespective of grade, are requested to submit two images for consideration to be selected as part of our entry of 20 images (one image per member is selected).

Entries close Sunday 16th May.

The easiest way to submit an image is to select a previously uploaded image that has done well in our competitions.

To do this:

  • Go to the entry form APS Australian Cup 2021 preselection
  • Use the green Select From Existing Uploaded Images button
  • Open the Result filter, clear the filter, then check your highest awards
  • Review the images as a slideshow and then select the chosen image for entry. This returns you to the entry form and populates the entry.
  • Repeat for your second submission.

As mentioned at our Return to Prints meetings by our excellent critique judge, Brad Le Brocque, the object of the exercise is not to necessarily win the Cup, but to instill some friendly rivalry and do better than Maitland or Wangi!

Please do not enter previously selected images, whether they were a part or our or another clubs entry. Also you can only submit entries as part of one club.

Northern Photographic Federation event at the Kurri Kurri Bowling club

The Maitland Camera Club will be Hosting an event for the Northern Photographic Federation at the Kurri Kurri Bowling club

Tuesday 20th of April commencing at 2:30pm

As the NPF conference will not be occurring this year due to uncertainties caused by rules surrounding Covid at the Belmont 16 footers, we have decided to put on a Mini trade show and workshop night.

Some of the Manufacturers Panasonic, Sony, Sigma, Ilford, Profoto and Nikon have indicated they will be attending and bringing along their latest gear, others may be included as we move closer.

Les porter will also be there with a comprehensive range of Paper for sale, he will also have some powered Dry Boxes with him and other photographic accessories.

It would not be an event without C R Kennedy and John Wallace. John will have a lot of equipment on display. The whole afternoon is designed to be hands on and a chance to talk to the companies directly, followed by dinner and then a comprehensive workshop on studio lighting by John. He will have triggers and some of the newer Sigma Art series lenses to fit the major brands. So we will be shooting in real-time and quite a few will get the chance to have a go, Kurri Kurri bowling club has a comprehensive menu of well-prepared food, however, Tuesday night is normally fairly quiet so they will require an idea of the numbers we are expecting for dinner. There is no cost to attend the event, but dinner is buy your own so each club MUST give me a rough idea of how many will be attending from your club. R.S.V.P by Monday 12/04/21.

This is a great chance to catch up with friends from other clubs we may not have seen for a while and to start getting back to Normal……Hope to see you there.

Regards Brad Le Brocque Mob 0415771129

If you would like to attend please contact Brad Le Brocque Mob 0415771129. RSVP by 12th April.
