Negative space is the area around and between objects in a picture, which can provide ‘breathing room’ giving the viewer’s eyes somewhere to rest and prevents the image from appearing too cluttered. Ideally, it should be used to enhance an image by creating better-composed pictures as well as allowing viewers to see sizes and shapes more easily (you may find this article useful – https://contrastly.com/negative-space/), to be judged by Terina Vale.
